Our Adoption Process

~STEP 1~

Reach out to me, Jillian, with any questions you may have! This is important so that we can set a time to chat to see if a Bernedoodle from Golden Coast is the right path for you. Adopting a puppy from us is a two way street and we want to make sure that our fur babies are only going to loving, safe, and healthy homes that are going to provide their puppy with a wonderful life. 

 

~STEP 2~

Fill out the Puppy Application on our website. Please complete all questions so that we can hear all about the amazing things in your life and learn about your plans for your new pup family member! You will indicate what gender preference you have, tell us about your lifestyle, and let us know of any other furry and not so furry friends in your life.

~STEP 3~

As long as everything looks good on your application you will be hearing from us regarding putting a deposit down on a litter of puppies. Our deposit fee is $500. If under the circumstance that the litter of puppies does not happen I will refund you your deposit fee.

~STEP 4~

Time to get prepared! Your new puppy is in the making and it's time for you to gather all the necessary materials. So fun! Also, once you hear from us regarding pick-up dates it's a good time to schedule a vet appointment for two days after your new pup comes home. You will hear updates from us and you can follow along on your new fur babies' journey. Be sure to follow our Facebook and Instagram pages to keep up to date on the litter of pups!

~STEP 5~ 

Choose your puppy! Our Bernedoodle adoption list is first come first serve based on your application approval and subsequent deposit. You will know your place in line after speaking with me and then I will confirm your place in line again once your deposit is placed.

 

Puppy Choosing Information

The breeder maintains the right to choose the first puppy of the litter or eliminate a puppy from the choosing process due to any health or behavior related concerns. When you speak with us the first time we will let you know where you stand on the waitlist for that litter. We only accept a short waitlist so that families are putting a deposit down on a specific litter. We do this so that you have an exact idea of when your new puppy will be coming home and do not have to wait for long periods of time. You will know your exact spot in line. If it comes time to choose and you do not want one of the available puppies you can be bumped to the next litter. However, there is no guarantee on when or how soon that next litter will arrive.

You will be able to come to our house in Marco Island, Florida or we can do a video call to choose your puppy once they are at least 6 weeks old. A great time to make a small trip out of it and enjoy the beautiful island we call home! Once they are 8 weeks old they will have completed their final health exam and received a health certificate from our veterinarian. We will communicate regarding a day and time for your puppy pick up. Unfortunately, due to the health and safety of our puppies and parents, no other animals may come with you to choose your puppy. Please communicate with us if you require puppy delivery. We may be able to accommodate some locations for delivery but not all. Flight nanny services are an option and we can assist you with this. On pick-up day you will receive a puppy go-home basket (see pictures below) with an information binder on raising your new puppy, their current food, a collar, and a blanket/soft toy with the scent of mom and siblings.

~STEP 6~ 

Enjoy your new puppy and know that we are always here for questions and support! Should you ever have an issue with your Bernedoodle puppy we want to be informed and kept up to date. Continue to be a part of the Golden Coast Bernedoodle family!
